<video src="videos/Opening Eyes.mp4" width="1280" height="720" autoplay></video>
A weird sensation falls over you as you open your eyes from closing them for what had only felt like a [[minute]].
You're still tired. Where was it you were last night? You rub your eyes and quickly realize that you are not inside your house, but inside a very big living room. You lay there on an old leather chair in front of a burning fire place. The smell of fresh burned pipe tobacco fills the [[air|haze]].
Thinking about the past only hurts your head, so it's best to focus on the [[present]].You look around and see a [[table|magazines]], a [[bookshelf|books]], and a [[door|denied1]].There's a retro comic on the table. You reach down and [[pick it up|merlocks dream]]. As you curiously walk over to the book shelf you notice that most of the books are foreign to you. No F.Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, or even a Holy [[Bible|bookshelf]]. The door is locked. Better check for clues in the [[living room|second]].You look around and see a [[table|magazines]], a [[bookshelf|books]], and a [[door|denied]].Now that you are close enough to read all of the titles, you realize that they are all unknown to you. Not a single book from any [[time|clock]] period you could think of. You look at the clock in the corner, almost [[Midnight|bookshelf 2]].

<<audio Clock play>>Now that you are close enough to read all of the titles, you realize that they are all unknown to you. Not a single book from any [[time|clock]] period you could think of.
You look back at the bookshelf and decide to grab one. "Merlocks Escape" catches your eye. You [[grab|age]] it.As you pull it off the shelf a key falls out of the bottom of the bookshelf. You pick it up off the [[warm|key1]] ground. The key has a gold handle, and three prongs. The same three prongs needed to open up the door out of the living room. You put the key in your back [[pocket|mainroom]].Double-click this passage to edit it.You look around and see a [[table|magazinedenied]], a [[bookshelf|book2]], and a [[door|open]].
As you start to walk back over to the door, you feel a tingling sensation in the back of your [[skull|pulse]].You start to walk over to the magazines, but the door seems to call out to you silently, almost begging you to open it. You have the key now, do you wish to open the door? [[Yes|Force]] or [[No|Force]]Before you are able to comprehend your decision, you look down and the key is already in your hand. Almost as if the key was being summoned to the [[keyhole|hole]].The door opens silently. The hallway is dimly lit, but you can make out the L curve at the end of the hall. The smell of pipe tobacco seems be getting stronger. Do you wish to proceed down the hallway? [[Yes|downhall]] or [[No|doorback]]
<<audio Clock fadeout>> It pulses. And the key is in your [[hand|control]].Almost as if you had skipped forward in [[time|clock3]]. You start to walk over to the magazines, but the door seems to call out to you silently, almost begging you to open it. You have the key now, do you wish to open the door? [[Yes|Force]] or [[No|Force]]"Merlocks [[Dream]]" is written on the cover of the well preserved comic. You decide to read out of the middle of the book. Two sentences lay sprawled out across the page, scribbled over by the owner of the book possibly.
"[[Time|clock2]] is relative. 3 is the key." You look at the clock in the corner, almost [[Midnight|Magazine2]].
<<audio Clock play>>Time is relative. 3 is the key. You walk back to the middle of the [[room|present]].You look at the clock in the corner, almost [[Midnight|Walk]]With the key in hand, you walk over to the [[door|door3]].You start to walk down the hallway and you can now see that there are paintings on the wall all the way to the end of the L. The paintings are strange. Mainly just [[abstracts|Paintings]], almost dreamlike in nature. As you turn around to leave the hallway, you realize that the door silently closed behind you when you entered. There is no door knob on this side of the door. You are forced to proceed forward down the [[hall|downhall]]You take a left at the turn, and walk down the next hallway. The smell of tobacco smoke gets stronger with [[every step towards the next room|newroom]].As you enter the next room you realize that it is setup exactly like the [[previous room|next]].
<<audio Clock fadein>>You look around and see a [[table|magazines2]], a [[bookshelf|books2]], and a [[clock|clocknew]].While walking over to the table with the magazines, a few of the names of the books on the book shelf [[catch your eye]]. There are three books on the bookshelf that catch your eye. Merlocks Mind [[1|Merlock1]], Merlocks Mind [[2|Merlock2]], and Merlocks Mind [[3|Merlock3]]. Pick the number of the book you wish to read an excerpt from. You look at the clock in the corner, almost [[Midnight|next]].Twelve O'clock still? Do you wish to investigate the clock closer? [[Yes|checkclock]] or [[No|nocheck]]? You remember what was written in the book, "Time is relative". Did this phrase have something to do with the reason why the clock hadn't changed from almost [[midnight|checkclock2]]? You decide that time is not relative and walk back into towards the [[middle of the room|main]]. The excerpt read " I pulled out another cigarette from the carton I religiously kept in my back pocket. I lifted it into that space between my lips familiarly. The lighter was always my favorite part, the flick sound providing that first bit of smoke to my lungs. It was as if it was the one bit of this world I could control, in that moment at least. It humanized me, made me what I am. A snapshot of my [[timeline|fade]]."You start to read an excerpt from the [[book|chode4]]You pick up the worn copy of Merlocks Mind 3. What could be held within this [[book|next3]]?The words seemed to fade away, and made room for the next, almost [[dreamlike|chode2]]. "...My room mate looked out over the street on the balcony of our over priced apartment. I enjoyed my third cigarette of the day. We shared this moment like the many we had before. [[Normalcy, comfortability, was this home|chode3]]? ""The details never seemed to be significant, but for whatever reason they were always the largest part of my attention. The sounds of the busy street outside the window. The way my hair brushes against the tops of my ears when the fan rotated over my head. At this point my eyes were heavy. I had considered going to my bed but there i'd be forced to be alone. Alone with my thoughts, forced to fall asleep think until my mind drifted back to that [[place|Awake]].""I watched as his heart leaked the last of it’s contents into his hands. He looked up at me as if to ask only with his eyes “how had this happened to me?”. The pool of liquid, poured from his body, had drenched his lap, and his hands were stained from its essence. On his knees, He looked down at the mess, with tears falling into the pool. He had hoped to never see this, the liquid not meant for him to hold [[alone|chode5]].
"Standing over him I realized that, though in time he would return to his former self, I was watching the making of a man. Broken to his core. He would carry himself eternally different, as to avoid the actions which led him here. I was filled with remorse, having known him for years, I had finally realized a man is never truly finished being [[made|sleep2]].Your eyes begin to droop, and there's a buzzing in the back of your head. You decide its best to lay down on the [[leather couch|restart]]. You close your eyes for just a [[second|Awake]].As you flip through the book, you realize that every page is [[blank|blank]] except for 2 sentences sprawled out. [[Time is relative. 3 is the key|relative]]. The phrase seems familiar, like you have seen it before, but your head begins to [[buzz again|buzz]]. You fight the urge to sit down and begin to actually think for once. How was it that you got into this place? And what was the deal with the writing in the book, Time is relative. 3 is the key. [[Think...]]You decide to walk back to the center of the [[room|main]] in order to get a grasp on the situation. You look around and see a [[table|magazines2]], a [[bookshelf|books2]], and a [[clock|clocknew2]].You look at the clock in the corner, almost [[Midnight|timeslip]].
As you focus in on the clock you notice that it is indeed ticking, but the hour and minute hands didn't seem to be [[moving]]. You try with all your might to think of the correlation between the [[clock and the time]]. That's when it [[hits]] you. You went to sleep right before [[midnight]].You decide to investigate further. You walk back towards the door [[you came through]].Where the door orginally had been, the [[bookshelf|bookshelf3]] now was. The room rotated as you were traversing the room somehow. You gather your senses as much as you can and approach the [[new door]].You open the door which leads to another dimly lit hallway. This one does not change directions, but instead leads to [[3 doors]]. Walking down the hallway you notice the different [[paintings]] along the [[wall|you]].As you get closer you realize the paintings in this hallway were not paintings at all, but [[mirrors]]. As you walk by, you see your reflection change. The cluelessness of youth is portrayed in the first and continues down the spectrum to what you look like at this exact moment. "What have you learned." the reflection seems to say back at [[you]].Focusing on the doors ahead of you now, there is a decision to be made. Door [[one]], door [[two]], or door [[three]]. You approach the first door and open it with ease, entering with the hopes of discovering what is [[beyond]].Door number two seems to be the correct choice, you walk up to the door, grasp the golden knob, and [[twist]].A familiar smell fills the air as the third door clicks [[open|open2]]. [[The door shuts behind you]]. You walk into a pitch black room. And close your [[eyes|Awake]].As you twist you are reminded of a familiar pain. A buzzing pain in the back of your [[head]]. You enter the room and instantly [[collapse|Awake]].You walk forward down your hallway towards your room. The pleasant smells of your home fill the dark space making it [[bearable]] once again. You approach your bed and see a familiar [[clock|end]] sitting on your bedside table. Almost midnight. Better get to bed you think to [[yourself]].You climb into bed and [[close your eyes]].
